Video Compressor

On-device video compression, previews and a private library of completed videos.

Updated: 4 October 2026Android & iOSiOS: com.focusproduction.videocompress

Who is responsible

This privacy policy applies to Video Compressor for Android and iOS, where available. iOS bundle identifier: com.focusproduction.videocompress. FocusProduction is the developer and the controller for personal data it handles in connection with the app and support. Contact: tendalinoino@gmail.com.

The app does not require a FocusProduction account. Data handled by Android, iOS, your chosen storage providers, Google and Apple services is also governed by those providers’ privacy notices.

Android and iOS coverage

This policy covers both Android and iOS editions. AdMob advertising and optional in-app purchases are covered on both platforms. Availability, permissions, feature sets and local file handling may differ by edition. Details expressly identified as iOS describe that edition; the corresponding Android features apply where offered. The same public policy address covers both platforms.

Data used by the app

The app reads videos you select, their audio tracks, file names, sizes, durations, dimensions and other technical media information needed to compress and preview them. Video and audio can contain identifiable people, voices and places. Compression takes place on your device; originals are not overwritten.

The iOS edition keeps selected private input copies while needed for compression or recompression, completed compressed videos, thumbnails, library records and settings such as the requested size and output options. These records support previews, further processing and exports. Failed or incomplete compression output is cleaned up; completed batch items remain available.

The iOS edition creates new MP4 files and does not retain source location metadata in the compressed output. Location visible in the video itself, voices and other content remain unless you edit or remove that content. Original files and selected source copies may still contain their original metadata. Review any Android metadata options and the output before sharing.

Permissions and device access

On Android, a photo/video or file picker, or media/storage permission where required by the OS and feature, grants access to selected videos and export destinations. Network access supports advertising, privacy choices and Google Play Billing.

On iOS, the system Photos picker or Files picker grants access to selected videos. The Photos picker does not require broad photo-library read access. Saving completed videos requests Add Photos permission. Files may include an iCloud or other cloud-backed provider. Compression and playback use the selected file’s existing audio; they do not record from the microphone or obtain your current GPS location.

You control protected access through system prompts, pickers and device settings. Refusing access limits the associated import or save feature. Permission names and available features differ between Android and iOS.

Sharing and external services

Video, audio and thumbnail content is not uploaded to FocusProduction or advertising providers. There is no developer-operated video-processing server or FocusProduction login. Advertising and store communications involve the separate data described below.

A cloud provider may download a selected source video before local processing. Saving or sharing a completed file gives the chosen destination that file, which may be uploaded or synchronised under the destination provider’s privacy policy. Review the video and its audio before sharing. Copies already exported or shared are outside the app’s local deletion controls.

Advertising and privacy choices

The Android and iOS editions use Google AdMob for advertising and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) for applicable consent and privacy choices. Depending on your choices, platform, settings and advertising mode, Google and participating advertising providers may process IP address (and approximate location inferred from it), device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, app interactions, crash information and performance diagnostics. Purposes include delivering and measuring ads, operating the advertising service and preventing fraud. UMP may also process technical information and consent choices independently of whether an ad is displayed.

This advertising processing is separate from the local content described above. The app does not send selected media, logos, text, notes, job records or embedded content metadata to advertising providers. Non-personalised or limited ads can still involve technical data and device storage; they do not mean that no data is processed.

Use the app’s advertising privacy choices where offered to review or change applicable consent. Android settings also let you reset or delete the advertising ID, depending on your device and OS version. On iOS, identifiers may include app- or developer-scoped identifiers and, with the required permission, the advertising identifier (IDFA). Where tracking across other companies’ apps or websites is used, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorisation is required first. ATT is separate from advertising consent. You can review tracking permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Withdrawing consent or permission does not erase information already lawfully processed.

See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s advertising information for provider practices and controls.

In the iOS edition, the advertising SDK starts and ad requests are made only when Apple ATT authorisation and the applicable UMP permission both allow it. Denied or restricted tracking permission disables ads while compression, previews, saving and sharing remain usable. Requests use non-personalised settings, which still do not imply that the SDK processes no data. UMP can process technical consent information separately.

Known Pro access prevents advertising SDK startup and ad delivery. A later verified purchase or detected tracking-permission revocation stops future ad requests and clears loaded ads; it cannot uninitialise a previously initialised SDK or erase existing vendor records. An optional rewarded ad can grant a temporary ad-free period in the current session, without granting Pro. Applicable advertising privacy choices are available in Settings.

In-app purchases

Optional Pro purchases unlock additional compression options, batch processing and removal of advertisements, depending on the edition. The iOS Pro product is a one-time non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. Available products and the store price are displayed before purchase confirmation.

On Android, purchases use Google Play Billing; on iOS, they use Apple’s in-app purchase service (StoreKit). The relevant store handles checkout, payment details and its store account. The app receives product identifiers, purchase tokens or signed transaction information, transaction dates and purchase or entitlement status to verify, provide and restore purchased access, including changes after a refund or revocation. FocusProduction does not receive your full payment-card number through these purchase flows.

Purchase verification and restoration communicate with the relevant store. Google and Apple retain transaction records under their own privacy policies; limited sales or transaction reports may also be made available to the developer. Purchase-related app information is used for purchased access, support and applicable accounting or legal obligations. It is separate from the local content you create or process in the app.

Use the store account that made the purchase to restore eligible purchased access. Deleting app data or uninstalling does not erase store transaction records or automatically refund a purchase. Manage purchases and refund requests through the relevant store. See Google’s Privacy Policy and App Store & Privacy.

Retention, backups and deletion

In the iOS edition, selected source copies are retained while needed for recompression and removed when the selection is cleared or replaced, or when stale files are cleaned at startup. Imported private copies are excluded from device backup; completed videos in app storage are eligible for your normal device backup. The library and completed videos remain until removed through the app or its storage is deleted.

Remove completed items using the library controls. Recovery after damaged library metadata can preserve unreadable or ambiguous private files to avoid losing media; removing the app’s local data removes those private files. Copies saved in Photos, Files or sent to another person must be deleted separately.

Local app content remains in app storage until you remove it using the available app controls, clear app storage where supported, or delete the app, subject to the temporary-file handling described in this section. FocusProduction cannot remotely retrieve or delete content that remains only on your device.

On Android, clearing app storage or uninstalling removes private app data. Exported files and copies in shared storage, your gallery or another app must be deleted separately. Android or device-manufacturer backup and migration tools may copy eligible app data depending on the app’s exclusions, OS version and your settings. Manage those copies through your device or backup provider.

On iOS, choose Delete App to remove its local documents and data; Offload App preserves them. Copies saved to Photos, Files or another destination must be deleted separately. Eligible app data may be included in iCloud or computer backups, subject to app exclusions and your device settings. Manage those copies through Apple’s backup controls. Restoring a backup may restore local records. System backups and user-selected cloud destinations are separate from an app-operated cloud service.

Deleting local data does not automatically delete advertising, consent or purchase records held by Google, Apple or another provider. Their retention depends on the data type, your settings, security needs and legal obligations. See Google’s retention policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy. Your choices and privacy rights

We use information needed to provide the features you request and to respond to support requests. Where consent is required for optional access or advertising, the applicable permission or consent control is used. Our legitimate interests include maintaining service security and handling support; legal obligations may require retention of certain correspondence or transaction information.

Where applicable, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of personal data that FocusProduction holds, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Write to tendalinoino@gmail.com, naming the app and your request. For local-only records, use the device and app controls described above. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority; in Italy, this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Security and international processing

App content is processed in local app storage or memory as described for the relevant edition. Android or iOS controls access to private app data. Protect your device and review files before exporting them. Email and any provider you choose to share with are separate communication channels.

If you email support or open this website, the relevant mail or hosting provider may process data in countries other than yours under its published privacy terms and applicable transfer safeguards. Google services may likewise process data internationally using safeguards described in Google’s privacy policy, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses where applicable. Advertising SDK transmissions use TLS encryption. Apple services, where used for purchases, backups or device features, may process data internationally under Apple’s privacy policy and applicable transfer safeguards.
